Nicolas Cage Wears OTIS Eyewear in The Surfer – Filmed in Our Hometown of Yallingup

Nicolas Cage Wears OTIS Sunglasses in The Surfer

Hollywood comes to our sleepy surf town—and brings Nic Cage with it.

In The Surfer (2024), Nicolas Cage plays a man who comes back to his childhood beach to surf with his son. Classic. But things take a sharp turn when a bunch of overly-territorial locals tell him to rack off. What follows is a psychological spiral in boardshorts, backdropped by burning sand, and fueled by toxic localism, identity crises, and the kind of heatwave that makes everything feel like a fever dream. It’s weird. It’s satirical. It’s sweaty. And somehow... it works.

The film has people asking some strange questions, least of which is ‘what sunglasses does Nic Cage wear in The Surfer?’

What’s this got to do with OTIS?

Nicolas Cage wears our Test of Time X sunglasses - so while he’s melting down under the WA sun, at least his vision’s protected. Better yet, The Surfer was filmed in Yallingup—our hometown. The same salt-stained patch of coast where OTIS was born.

The Test of Time X is one of our most loved silhouettes. Not just because it looks good on Nic Cage's face, but because it handles harsh light, long days, and unpredictable turns just as well as a scriptwriter with a grudge against surf politics.

Cage might get cooked in this film, but his eyes? Covered.
